Intro
What’s inside?
Who is it for?

Many of the world’s biggest problems including the climate crisis are arguably coordination failures on a global scale and crypto/Web3 provides a number of primitives that help build incentive schemes at scale, combined with financial primitives from the DeFi world. This has set the stage for ReFi (Regenerative Finance), where crypto/Web3 mechanisms are applied to a number of such challenges.

One particularly thriving area is ReFi and carbon: Done right, ReFi can increase access to carbon markets, create a better record of transactions, and when used with smart contracts, digital measuring, reporting, and verifying (MRV) systems, and good governance it can create trust in areas lacking proper governance and help narrow the gap between those creating the impact and those who wish to support, sponsor or fund it.

This Deep Dive helps you take first steps in this fascinating field.

Myke is a founder and Managing Partner at Übermorgen Ventures, an early-stage VC firm that invests in climate tech startups. Crypto is a dear hobby to him. The intersection of the two led to the interest in ReFi and this deep dive.

Before Übermorgen, Myke had founded and built Doodle, which he took to 25 million monthly users, profitability, and exit. After the exit, he contributed to the Swiss and European startup ecosystem as a business angel with numerous investments and companies he co-founded and helped build.
