• In this article, I explain why to-do lists are not just ineffective for getting important work done, but also constantly make us feel bad. Instead, we should be using schedules.
• To-do lists tends to lead us to work on urgent or easy tasks rather than important work.
• A task you put on a to-do-list can eat up way more time than anticipated. A task you put on your schedule will only get as much time as you're willing to allocate to it beforehand.
• Planning in advance how you intend to spend your time is the only way to know the difference between traction (what you said you would do) and distraction (anything else).
